The Edge deck in NYC

During the peak season of April to October, The Edge NYC opens at 8 am or 9 am and closes at 11 pm or midnight.

During the lean season of November to March, the observation deck opens at 9 am or 10 am and closes at 9 pm or 10 pm.

The last entry is always an hour before closure.

Edge is open all year round, even on public holidays.

Timed entry slots

While booking your general admission tickets for The Edge, you must select a time slot to enter the attraction. These time slots are 10 minutes apart, meaning that every hour, there are six slots you can choose from.

Entry time slots for popular times get sold out soon, so it helps to book your tickets in advance.

What happens if you arrive late?

If you miss your entry time, you might have to wait for the next slot based on availability. Contact an Experience Ambassador at the entrance who will accommodate your entry.

How long can you stay at The Edge?

At The Edge observation deck in New York City, you can stay as long as you like—there’s no time limit for your visit.

To fully enjoy the views, explore the exhibits, and experience the multimedia display on Level 4, you must spend about 90 minutes at the attraction.

Best time to visit The Edge

Sunset: Without a doubt, sunset is the best time to visit the Edge. You’ll get a breathtaking view of New York City as the city lights come to life.

Weekdays: For smaller crowds, plan your visit for a weekday morning or about two hours before closing. Weekdays usually have smaller crowds, which means shorter lines and a more peaceful experience.

Early Morning: If you want to avoid crowds, your best bet is to visit in the morning when Edge opens.

Late Evening: The crowds dissipate fairly rapidly after sunset, making late evening a fine time to visit. This time is especially good for couples who prefer a romantic experience.
